12 Days of Station Celebration: A Big Submission
December 22, 2014 by CFUZ

Topping the charts for the 12 Days of Celebration would have to be the day we submitted our applications to the CRTC and Industry Canada to establish a low-power frequency modulated (LPFM) terrestrial broadcast signal in Penticton BC.

The process of obtaining a licence can take up to 12 months as the CRTC requires this time to process the application. However, a public consultation period has already taken place where 55 interested groups and individuals voiced their support, and a hearing is scheduled for January 13th in Gatineau, QC. We are looking forward to hearing the results of the CRTC decision sometime in early 2015. The application process was a major step in the progression of Peach City Radio and we hope to become the Okanagan's very first broadcast community radio station in the near future!

The application was the result of a lot of hard work on the part of many people. The ultimate goal to bring community radio to Penticton is now closer than ever as a result of all that hard work, so if you wee a Board member on the street, why not give them a big HUG?!

This has been an AMAZING year in the process of building Peach City Radio for you - the community of Penticton. We've decided to get into the holiday spirit by co-opting the special ritual of celebrating the 12 days of Christmas, by sharing with you the 12 Days of Station Celebration!. Over these 12 days, make sure to check in here, or on our Facebook page to read about some of our outstanding achievements throughout 2014.
