Caught in the Act Radiometres Grant

What is 'Caught in the Act'?

The ‘Caught in the Act’ project is the realization of a programming goal that was developed during the initial application phase to the CRTC of our community radio station. Our mission is to solidify a connection between independent, local musicians, and our burgeoning community radio station in Penticton. We aim to emerge within our community as a leader in the promotion and production of live music events for local musicians.

Our Goals

This is an ambitious project, that will require assistance from a large number of people involved with CFUZ in order for us to achieve our project goals:
  • to establish a relationship with local musicians actively creating and performing original content in and around our community,
  • to establish a high-quality, recurring and sustainable program in our schedule devoted to local musicians,
  • to provide training opportunities for our volunteers in the art of hosting and interviewing musicians, in recording local live performances, both in our studio, and at remote venues, and in producing local live music content into excellent radio and podcasting content,
  • to provide training opportunities for our volunteers in the art of recording, producing and distributing video content of musical performances, including live streaming to social media platforms,
  • to show leadership in an effort to solidify the local music scene in and around Penticton, and
  • to provide local independent artists with professional quality recordings of their work to be used for their own purposes.
